Composition Lesson 8 - Portraits
Hi Biblical Fine Arts Photography Students,
Taking Portraits of People or Animals is a lot of Fun!
For this lesson, you are going to be "professional portrait photographers"! Won't that be fun! Once you learn how to do this, you might be able to get a job doing it!
Here are some hints:
When you take a "professional" portrait of a person or animal, try to set your camera at the level of their eyes.
If you put your camera on a tripod, that will help it to stay focused.
Remember your Rule of Thirds when you frame your picture.
Typically, when we take portraits of people we ask them to sit with their knees to the side.. not facing forward.
Taking photos as they are facing sideways with their heads turned toward you will give a better image.
Composition: Lesson 8/Assignment 1: (6 photos)
1. Find three subjects (people or animals) willing to have their portraits taken.
2. Obtain their permission to have their pictures posted to the student website.
3. Take 2 poses of each model.
I hope you have a lot of fun making memories for yourself and for your friends.
Smiles,
Mrs. G.
